The Community Forums Programme continues with its implementation in the municipality Dolneni, with the second session which took place on Jauary 21 in the restaurant M in the village Lazhani, attended by 43 citizens.
In eight “working tables", the participants discussed to identify and group several problems that were used to establish sub-topics for the identified topic of the first forum session, "Environmental protection".
“It’s good that the citizens are the one deciding here”, said Ramadan Redzeposki from the village Debreshte, one of the Forum participants. The priority problems identified by the citizens were grouped in four groups: lack of sewage, lack of waste treatment – illegal landfills, lack of healthy drinking water, and lack of green areas. ![]() Based on these problems, the present citizens created working groups to conduct field research about the problems in order to determine the current situation in the municipality. According the the Mayor of Dolneni, Izudin Karishic, it is necessary to increase the level of participation in the forum sessions and invite citizens to take part on a more mass level. The total budget of the Programme in the municipality Dolneni is MKD 6 million, of which MKD 1.5 million are a contribution by the municipality and MKD 4.5 million are a donation by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC). In this phase the Programme is also being implemented in seven other municipalities - Berovo, Bitola, Sveti Nikole, Novo Selo, Resen, Dolneni, Kocani, and Saraj. Implementer of the Programme in this municipality is the Association for sustainable development and cooperation Alka. |
