    The participants in the Community Forums Programme in the municipality of Karbinci, on their First forum session that took place on Wednesday (23 April 2008), analyzed the problems in the field of Urban Development present in the municipality. It was this field that the zero session determined to be of priority in the project implementation, and the topic was discussed at working tables (education, public health, environment, agriculture, local self-governments, and business).karbinci_napravena1.jpg

     Each working table singled out three issue that require intervention – the main ones included sports fields, putting fences around schools, kindergartens, construction of streets and pavements, walkways, arrangement of squares in the centers of settlements.
     “In our village of Dolni Balvan there is no organized life for young people, that’s why I think that it would be good for this project to build a sports field for small sports, where young people would find a place to have fun and spend their free time,” said Sreten Peshev, a young resident of Dolni Balvan.karbinci_napravena_11.jpg
     Marina Nikolovska from the village of Tarinci, representative of the education sector, expressed satisfaction over the opportunity for citizens to be involved in the determining of priorities in their daily life, as well as in project development.
     “As far as Tarinci is concerned, and I think this issue is present in other places in the municipality as well, there is a need for a kindergarten. There is an increasing number of young families where both parents go to work, and the older members of the family are too busy with domestic chores, so there is no one to watch the children. That’s why, in my opinion, we should consider opening kindergartens.”
     The problems proposed by the moderators, with active citizen involvement, were grouped in four groups:

1. Urban arrangement of settlements;
2. Improve and construct infrastructural facilities;
3. Promote sports and recreation opportunities;
4. Improve services of care and education institutions.

Furthermore, working groups for problem analysis were established, which will have a working meeting on May 11, and the next forum session is scheduled for June 22 at 1 pm.
