The citizens of Krusevo have chosen the City Market project

“Covering and arranging the city market in Krusevo” is the project that was selected by the citizens of Krusevo as the priority project for the solution of the problems in their everyday life.

The seventh session that was organized on 24 March at the retirement home in Krusevo was attended by approximately 50 citizens. The attendants voted in favor of one of the five projects that were prepared by the work groups in the last months.
“The citizens were involved in the development of the city via the Forums in order to detect the problems of the municipalities", stated the mayor of Krusevo Vasilco Damcevski, adding that the final objective is to select project that were priorities for the citizens.
The project for the city market has a total budget of 14 million MKD. 10 millions are to be provided by the Macedonian government while the remaining four millions are to be provided by the project fund of the Programme.

    Construction is one of the phases in the implementation of the project and it foresees roofing and interior arrangement of the market.
The remaining funds of the fund are foreseen for the procurement of waste containers within the frames of the second-ranked project.
    “I believe that all projects are important for the citizens, however the funds are limited", stated Suncica Kostovska-Petrovska the manager of the Programme for FIOOM, the implementing organization in Krusevo.
    She also added that this is the first opportunity where the citizens can decide on the allocation of the funds and can make a decision that yields results.
    The roofing and arranging the city market foresees floor laying, access to the market, outer guttering and placing counters in the market. The market will be managed by the public utility company “Komuna” and the construction will be carried out in a period of 6 months.
    In addition, there were six recommendations from the citizens regarding the priority issues for improving their everyday life.
    The Programme began with implementation in October last year, with a total budget of four millions MKD. The municipality participates with one million while three millions are donated by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation.
