Residents of Bogovinje vote for economic development

Approximately 110 residents of Bogovinje participated in the first forum session of the Community Forums Programme, which took place on 16 October at the Restaurant Floar.  Economic development was the topic identified by the residents of Bogovinje as a priority for improvement of their daily lives, of the three proposed by the Municipality, including Social Development and Environmental Development.  Furthermore, the session identified the Forum's structure by creating 11 working tables representing their interests - education, public health, sports/culture, business, youth, agriculture, infrastructure, IT, Municipal council members, municipal administration, and various.  According to the Municipality's Mayor, Hazbi Idrizi, there are several projects within the frame of the three topics that the municipality is interested in implementing, including promotion of the municipality, job creation, improvement of infrastructure, etc.  He expressed his satisfaction from the Community Forums Programme, as an opportunity for the residents to decide for themselves where to invest the municipal funds.   The representative of ADI, the organization implementing the Programme in municipality Bogovinje, Shpend Imeri, underlined the cooperation with the municipalities, in the monitoring of the decentralization process and support for local initiatives.  The session is first of the seven Forums within the frames of the forum process, which has been taking place in 12 municipalities in Macedonia starting from this October, as part of the third cycle of the second phase of municipalities involved in the Programme.  The total budget for the Programme in this municipalitiy amounts to MKD 6 million, of which MKD 4.5 million are a donation by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), and MKD 1.5 million denars are provided by the municipality Bogovinje.
