Fourth session in Berovo

99 citizens attended the fourth forum session which took place at the Hunters Lodge restaurant in Berovo as part of the Community Forum Programme. The session comprised of an overview of four types of expenditures which was followed by proposal of priorities by the participants which would be achieved from the municipal budget the following year. The proposals included public utility activities and environment protection, expenditures within the competencies of education and culture, expenditures in regards to the economic development, social services and sports.  The participants decided on the priorities following the presentations that were prepared by representatives of the municipal administration of Berovo. Twenty four of those proposals covered the area of education and culture, including the refurbishment of the movie theater and the central heating at the House of Culture, increasing the number of books at the library, opening of a regional radio in the municipality of Berovo, renovation of the school in the village Macevo, replacement of the roof structure of the primary School in village Dvoriste etc.  The priorities on social welfare and sports that were proposed by the citizens were summarized in three groups – revive the sports activities by forming formal groups, construction of sports facilities and construction of a hospice.  The participants established 22 proposed priorities within the frames of the expenditures under the competencies for economic development, including the construction of infrastructural facilities next to the industrial zone, construction of an ethno park, construction of a memorial center and promotion of Petlec-Rusinovo, movie theater-multipurpose hall etc.  The budget forum took place in Berovo for the first time along with tow other municipalities – Debar and Strumica, implying discussion and proposals for the allocation of budgetary assets in the municipality. The total budget for the municipality of Berovo amounts to eight million denars. The municipality participates with two million denars while six millions are donated by the Swiss Agency for development and cooperation (SDC).
