Proposals for improvement of revenues – Second session in Berovo |

The second forum session in the municipality of Berovo, where the budget forum as part of the Community Forums programme is implemented for the first time, took place on 14 October at the restaurant Loven dom, in the presence of 77 citizens from the municipality.
The topics of the sessions were the presentations of the development priorities of the municipality Berovo for 2010, the planned/created revenues of the municipality for the current year as well as a projection of revenues for 2010.
By means of delivering proposal at the working tables, the participants provided approximately twenty proposals for improvement of the revenues, some of which being a more diligent municipal administration for the collection of taxes, better cooperation between the central government (the ministries) and the local government with regards to issuing work permits, enhancing the efficiency of collecting the property tax, the payment of the tax on agricultural land etc.
“The Forum provided opportunities so that the village settlements are included with their own proposal concerning the solution of their problems”, said the representative of the local community Budinarci – Valentina Pacarska.
According to her, the participants had the opportunity to include their proposal in order to solve the infrastructural problem, which bears great significance for the people living in the villages.
The funds of the municipality and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), amounting to eight million denars will be allocated for the realization of projects that the citizens will determine within the frames of one of the project from the budget of the municipality.
In Berovo, the Programme is implemented by the Macedonian Centre for International Cooperation (MCIC) in cooperation with the municipality.
