Third Forum in Debar Print E-mail

 One of the topics covered at the third forum session held at the municipality of Debar on 29 October in the restaurant Penestija were the presentations of the budget expenditures.debar_budzetski-7.jpg

  The Forum which was attended by 112 citizens presented and discussed on the expenditures of the municipality budget for 2010, while the recommendations and proposals of the participants were recorded by a working group formed for that purpose.
  “The Community Forums in this cycle much alike the previous cycle provides the citizens with the opportunity to become actively involved in the activities by which we will reach significant decisions at local level”, said Ilmi Kurtisi, representative of the Association of Roma “Mesecina".
  He points out that the projects that are being offered by the local self-government are good but believes that the solutions offered by the participants at the Forum need to be taken into consideration as well.debar_budzetski-9.jpg
  The budget expenditures were presented by e representative from the department of finance of the municipality, while all the proposals and comments will be delivered to the municipality via the working group so that they are taken into consideration for the 2010 budget.
  Most of the given proposals were in the area of repairs to the water supply system and sewage, developing the roads and sidewalks, repairs for the school buildings, social protection and culture.
  Apart from Debar, the budget forum at this stage is being organized in Berovo and Strumica. The total budget for the municipality of Debar amounts to eight million denars. The municipality will participate with two millions while the rest six millions will be donated by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).
At this stage the programme in Debar is being implemented by the Centre for Institutional Development – CIRa, in cooperation with the municipality.
