The Centre for Institutional Development (CIRa)
is a local independent civil organization established in September
2003. At that time the founder of CIRa was the local staff of the
Institute for Sustainable Communities who in the period 1995-2004
implemented the USAID funded DemNet Program in Macedonia. The idea for
the establishment of a locally registered organization was the team of
dedicated and experienced people to continue providing services for the
community and to impact the development of the civil society in
Macedonia and wider.
CIRa's mission is directed towards strengthening the civil society and local communities' capacity in light of achieving significant societal changes. CIRa sees the accomplishment of its mission by strengthening capacities, promoting public participation and mobilizing local resources in solving problems of local communities. CIRa's strategic goals are: (1) Development of efficient and effective organizations and institutions; (2) Philanthropy development; (3) Participatory development of local communities. The "Community Forums" Program is implemented within the program activities for local communities' development. CIRa works on improving the life of citizens by initiating and implementing participatory processes for local communities' development. Within these processes, individuals, formal and informal groups, institutions and organizations from local level take responsibility for the decisions made and implement their ideas for making their communities a better place to live in. At the same time, CIRa works with the local self-government on capacity building for transparent and accountable operation, focused on citizens and their needs. CIRa cooperates with:
