Tuesday, 30 June 2009
The sixth forum session was held on 3 June in the large hall of the Municipality Building of Resen, and presented the project proposals that will proceed to the final stage and will be voted about in the following, seventh session of the Forum.
After the debate and elaboration of the proposed budgets and plans for implementation of the project proposals and the revoking of two project proposals, several project proposals remained to win the support of the citizens of Resen in the final stage, that is in the seventh forum session.
They include the following: “Together for healthy and clean Prespa” - equipping a laboratory for testing the harmful impact of pesticides in Prespa; “Landscaping the yard and establishing an environmental - educational and sports-recreational center – EKO Sport”; “Plant for recycling wood processing waste material”; and the project proposal “Improvement of the water supply system in Prespa”
The Director of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), Romain Darbellay, who attended the session, expressed his satisfaction with the level of citizen participation in the forum sessions and SDC’s readiness to continue supporting the forum process in the future.
“We are satisfied with the way the forum process has been going on and with the changes happening in the municipality. So far, the process has been going on without any interruptions, as a result of the maturity. The process has been understood by the citizens, to develop debates and various opinions. It is our hope that this will increase the citizens’ need to work together in the municipality and demand more. That would mean seeking other opportunities in similar processes in the future,” said Darbellay.
Representatives of MCIC, the organization implementing the Programme in Resen, emphasize they are satisfied with the way the project proposals have been developed.
“I am pleased to say that all forum sessions, including the sixth one, were marked by active citizen participation and relatively high attendance figures, as well as open discussion, and it can be seen that the proposed projects come from various fields of interest of the citizens of Resen. The project proposals are well formulated and well developed,” said the MCIC Programme Manager, Dimce Mitreski.
