 The fifth session within the frames of the Community forum programme took place on 23 April in the entrance hall of the Primary School “Kiril I Metodij” in the presence of approximately one hundred citizens.

 The thirteen workgroups presented the project resumes, while the citizens were given the opportunity to familiarize with the goals, objectives, sustainability, the projected time frame for realization and the budget of the projects.
    Of all the presented resumes, the biggest budget of eight million denars was the budget of the Indoor City Pool project.  The group which worked on its preparation elaborated on the necessity for increase in the use of geothermal waters which run along the pool through a pipeline, and for longer use of the pool in the course of the year.
    In relation to the questions were asked by the citizens, they have shown interest in the details for the project Reconstruction of the military building no.5 on Ponikva.  This project came as a result from the cooperation of five associations of citizens and as it was stated, it is supported by 1 200 persons who act as proposers of the project.
    The amount requested from the budget for the construction of the facility is five million denars and the facility will be at the disposal of the vulnerable groups of citizens. 
    An option offered as an opportunity for creation of conditions for communication among the young people is the project Youth Cultural Center. The municipal authorities and the local community suggested the specification of certain segments of the project for the realization of which the planner asks 65 000 euros.
    The projects for construction of sidewalks on the street “Roza Petrova”, to asphalt the street “ASNOM” in Orizari, for the necessity of atmospheric sewage system in Kocani, building fences around the schools “Nikola Karev”, Sv. Kiril i Metodij”, Lupco Santov, the kinder garden “Pavlina Veljanova” and the “City sports hall” were presented as well.
    The citizens of the village Bujni offered the resume of their project for asphalting the road to Dabot. The final ideas for the projects of Repair of the sports center, reconstruction of the City stadium, the Regional nursing home and the project of Lack of park greenery at the outskirts of the city were also elaborated.
    Silvana Ivanova, member of the work group said – “I believe that the Forum is entering its final and even more interesting stage. We are all very much interested into making the several months which were dedicated to creation of projects achieve validity by obtaining the budget funds of this programme. Of course, this will be decided by the vote of the citizens who took part in the work of the Forum".
    The sixth forum session will take place on 21 May.
    By using the Community forum programme, the citizens of Kocani will decide on the priorities for social and economic development of the municipality and on the activities which can be implemented in order to improve the conditions in the local community.
    The projects will be financed with a budget of eight million denars. Two millions are provided by the municipality of Kocani while six are awarded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC)
