The projects most likely to get citizen support in the forthcoming sessions of the Community Forums Programme were already visible at the Fourth forum session which took place on September 18 at the Army Hall in Strumica.
After several questions and approval by the present citizens of the work tables and the guests, the project proposals that were given a green light included the Center for rehabilitation and resettlement for drug and alcohol misusers, the Club for psycho-social support of persons suffering and operated from cancer, the Flower Market, as well as Reconstruction of the Sports Hall of the Jane Sandanski high school.
CIRa representatives, the organization implementing the programme in the municipality of Strumica, state that the work on the project proposals is almost 90% completed, with good documentation and minor flaws. “The interesting thing about Strumica is that the workgroups wanted to do so much, and had projects that were really good and sound. I like the fact that the citizens of Strumica know what they want to do, but are also highly self-critical”, said the moderator, Svetlana Milenkova. ![]() According to her, the citizens of Strumica had excellent project proposals prrepared, but realized they would have to give up on some of them because they required too much funds, without meeting some of the criteria which is necessary for further elaboration. At the next forum session, to be held in mid-October, the project proposals will already include budgets, as well as specific information on why the workgroups would vote in favor of a specific project. |
